Vincent Gatke

Vincent Gatke, born in Vienna in 2000, began playing the piano at the age of 5 with Irina Auner.
with Irina Auner. He then studied from 2012 – 2018 with Prof. Elisabeth Dvorak-Weisshaar, and since October 2018 he has been studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. Stefan Vladar. In June 2023 he completed his Bachelor’s degree with honours. He is currently continuing his studies with Prof. Stefan Vladar for his master’s degree.
Prizes and awards include, among others, 1st prize at the Prima La Musica Austrian National Piano Solo Competition 2012, 3rd prize at the 4. International Rosario Marciano Piano Competition 2012, 1st prize in the International category at the 5th Macau Piano Competition 2016, the special prize and Audience Award at the 2nd Lang Lang Futian Shenzhen International Music Festival & Piano Competition 2017, and 1st prize at the Prof. Dichler Competition of the Vienna Music Seminar 2022.
Furthermore, he was a student of the Music Promotion Programme of the City of Vienna 2011-2013 and Steinway Austria Scholarship winner at the Amadeus International School Vienna 2013-2018.

He has attended workshops and masterclasses with Paul Badura-Skoda, Jörg Demus, Elzbieta Wiedner-Zajac, Vladimir Kharin, Johannes Kropfitsch, Daejin Kim, Veda Kaplinsky, Michel Dalberto, Aleandro Geberovich Kaplinsky, Michel Dalberto, Alejandro Geberovich, Michel Beroff, William Fong, Uta
Weyand, Markus Schirmer, Filippo Gamba, and Matti Raekallio.
Performances, both solo and with orchestra, have taken him to the Vienna Musikverein, the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Wiener Mozarthaus, the Steinway Haus Wien, the MuTh Halle, the Salzburg Mozarteum, the Munich Gasteig and the Coselpalais in Dresden, as well as to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Taipei and Tokyo. Since 2017 he has toured China, Japan and Taiwan every year.
Vincent also often plays together with his mother Jing Gatke in duo combination cello and piano.
