First Live Round (May 16 – 18, 2025)

Preliminary Schedule of the First Round:

Friday, 16 May: 2 p.m. – ca. 7 p.m.

Saturday, 17 May: 10 a.m. – ca. 6 p.m.

Sunday, 18 May: 10 a.m. – ca. 6 p.m.

(the exact timings and complete schedule will be published after the completion of the online Video Round at the end of March 2025.

Entrance is free, while seating is limited (300 seats).

Please note: due to logistical reasons, seats can not be reserved in advance. We will try our best to accommodate all of you.

Up to twenty-one (21) competitors selected in the Online Video Round present a program according to the requirements of the repertoire (one work each from Group 2 and 5).

Group 2: One of the sonatas from op. 27 to op. 90 (with the exception of op. 49/1, 49/2 and op. 79)
Group 5: One of following pieces: Bagatelles op.33, Variations op. 34, Variations op. 35*, Variations op. 120* (Diabelli Variations), Bagatelles op. 126

All competitors advance automatically to the Semi Final Round, however the Chairman of the Jury may request the exclusion of a candidate after the First Round performance in extraordinary cases. The members of the jury vote on this request by simple majority.
