Up to twenty-one (21) competitors present a program according to the repertoire requirements (one work each from Group 1 and 3).
- Group 1: One of the sonatas from op. 2/1 to op. 26 (with the exception of op. 14/1 and 14/2)
- Group 3: One of the sonatas op. 101*, 106*, 109, 110, 111*
The three (3) pianists who receive the highest scores from the international jury will advance to the Grand Finale on May 24, 2025 in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein.
The piano concerto to be performed by each candidate will be chosen by lot on May 22, 2025.
