Selection Process
IMPORTANT DATES:
- Application period: May 15 to October 15, 2024
- December 1, 2024: The pre-selected candidates will be invited to send in recordings for the Online Video Round according to our requirements: submissions of these videos are possible until February 15, 2025
- March 25, 2025: Announcement of the selected candidates for the three live rounds in Vienna
APPLYING FOR THE 17th COMPETITION:
Applications must be submitted online via our site (www.beethoven-comp.at) between May 15 and October 15, 2024. A special link to the online application will be online during this period.
An application is comprised of the following:
- A completed online application form (which includes the proposed repertoire)
- A non-refundable application fee of 100 Euro
- Two (2) high-resolution color photographs (including one headshot)
- Contact information for two (2) references willing to provide, upon request, a letter of recommendation in support of the applicant
- Two (2) audition videos* (one video per work):
- Any piano sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven (a single movement or a complete sonata, of free choice)
- One other composition by Ludwig van Beethoven (free of choice, the work must be performed in its entirety)
* The audition videos for this pre-selection process must be of good quality with good audio quality. Videos must not be edited or modified in any way. However, videos recorded earlier at concerts or other competitions are also accepted.
Repertoire recorded for the audition videos may be included also in other rounds.
The recording can be sent via YouTube-Link, Dropbox-Link, WeTransfer or any other comparable service to info@beethoven-comp.at. It is mandatory that you apply first for the competition via our online application form and that you pay the application fee (100 Euro), before sending in your application videos.
Please be advised that the application videos are for the pre-selection process only. Additional videos will have to be provided when you are invited to the official Online Video Round.
